Have you made goals for 2015? Many people take the opportunity of a new year to make new personal goals – whether you’re eating healthy, exercising more, spending more time on your hobbies or more. We sat down with our founder, Brian Grant, to discuss his goals for 2015.
What are you most excited about in 2015?
Spending time with my kids. I have two sons in college now, so I’m really looking forward to visiting them and supporting them. I have one son playing rugby and the other playing basketball, which I know a little something about! So I’m looking forward to enjoying their sporting events this year. My girls are growing up too fast, dancing and doing all kinds of cool activities. And, of course, I have my little soldier baby Brian learning new things every day. There’s never a dull moment and I love it.
What are your personal goals for 2015?
This year I want to focus on family, health, and work. Recovering from knee surgery last year was tough. It was much harder than I expected. But I’m back on my feet, working out and eating healthy. Now that I’m feeling better, I can devote more time to my family and the foundation. That’s what this year is all about for me – continuing to improve my health so that I can focus on the people I love and the work I enjoy.
What are your goals for BGF in 2015?
I had the opportunity to attend a Powering Forward Wellness Retreat in October and was blown away. The focus on wellness – exercise, nutrition, and emotional support – was exactly what I had envisioned when I started BGF. We’ve brought together a world class team of experts, patients, and support partners to help us develop this program. And we’ve got some amazing partners working with us. In 2015, we’re working to expand our wellness retreat program, and the resources available from the retreat, nationwide. Additionally, you can expect to see some new and exciting exercise resources from us this next year. We plan to build out the next phase of our online programs, which will include resources to help people with Parkinson’s get the most out of their personal workouts. We’ve heard from so many people that what we’re doing – our focus on wellness, our online exercise videos, and our nutrition resources – is unique and valuable. It’s a really exciting time for us to be able to bring these resources to more people in need.
